Since calibration is not in the legally regulated area, the DKD-R 6-1 recommendation applies to pressure gauges, which also accredits calibration laboratories for pressure.

This recommendation foresees a period of re-calibration, namely:

  • hydraulic pressure balances (5 years)
  • mechanical pressure gauges with accuracy class > 0.6% (2 years)
  • electric pressure gauges with accuracy class > 0.5% of the measuring area (2 years)
  • electrical outlet pressure transmitters with accuracy class > 0.5% of the measuring range (2 years)
  • mechanical pressure gauges with accuracy class ≤ 0.6% (1 year)
  • electric pressure gauges with accuracy class ≤ 0.5% of the measuring area (1 year)
  • electrical outlet pressure transmitters with accuracy class ≤ 0,5% of the measuring range (1 year)

The user or the owner of the instrument may prescribe shorter, but not longer, deadlines than the recommended re-calibration terms, which will depend on the quality monitoring within their company.
